Injured Limerick captain Iain Corbett is confident that the squad can put this week's woes behind them and beat Clare in the Munster SFC this weekend.

The sides meet at the Gaelic Grounds on Sunday and Corbett who has been ruled out of the clash through injury stressed to the Limerick Leader that the young squad have what it takes to pull through.

An illegibility row over Tom Lee has ruled the midfielder out of the clash and this has dominated much of the headlines during the week.

However, Corbett is adamant that the players who line out will not be found wanting in the experience department.

"There is a young age profile but everyone here is an adult and if we take the league on its merits we just weren't good enough over the seven games," said Corbett.

He added: "Last year we lost by two point up in Ennis when we would say we didn't perform for the first 35 minutes at all.

"There isn't a lot between Limerick and Clare for the last couple of years so we are in with a shout next Sunday."
