The Sixmilebridge hurlers have gone through the domestic season unbeaten.

With new Clare coach Donal Og Cusack and manager Davy Fitzgerald looking on, John O'Meara's men defeated Crusheen 0-18 to 1-13 in Shannon yesterday to claim their 13th Clare Champion Cup, and complete a league and championship double.

The evergreen Niall Gilligan posted 0-9 as the 'Bridge made it 17 wins from 17 games to capture the coveted double for the first time since 2000. Their only defeat all year came eight days ago when they surrendered a nine-point lead against Limerick champions Na Piarsaigh's in the first round of the Munster club SHC at Cusack Park.
