There will be a new name on the Canon Hamilton Cup this year after Cratloe were dethroned by Sixmilebridge yesterday.

Hamstrung by the early dismissal of their All Star forward Conor McGrath, Cratloe succumbed to a 1-19 to 1-20 defeat to a Sixmilebridge team for whom veteran Niall Gilligan posted half a dozen points.

Last year's runners-up Crusheen are safely through to the semi-finals after seeing off Clooney-Quin on Saturday. Gearoid O'Donnell scored an early goal to help the 2010 and 2011 champions to a 1-17 to 1-12 win.

In the other quarter-finals, Kilmaley defeated neighbours Ballyea 2-18 to 2-17 after extra-time, while Clonlara coasted to a 0-19 to 0-10 victory over Newmarket-on-Fergus.

In the semi-finals, Clonlara will face Kilmaley and Sixmilebridge will take on Crusheen.
