Paul Kinnerk in action for Monaleen

Limerick hurling boss TJ Ryan and his Clare counterpart Davy Fitzgerald are both hoping to secure the services of Paul Kinnerk for next season.

The highly-rated coach was part of Fitzgerald's backroom team when Clare won the All-Ireland in 2013, but stepped away from the Banner set-up this season. However, Fitzgerald revealed in June that he was hoping to entice Kinnerk back in 2016.

But it would now seem that TJ Ryan is also keen on the Monaleen footballer. According to the Limerick Leader, Ryan is on the lookout for a new coach and new trainer following the departures of Paul Beary and Mark Lyons. Both men also served as selectors for the past two seasons.

The Limerick manager is also believed to have targeted strength and conditioning coach Joe O'Connor, who had also worked alongside Davy Fitzgerald up until the end of last season.

Ryan's new backroom team should be finalised in time for the next Limerick county board meeting on September 8.
