The Camogie Association has postponed its controversial plans to have a coin toss to decide whether Clare or Dublin should progress to the quarter-finals of the All-Ireland senior championship.

The coin toss was due to take place after Clare's win over Derry today, but was postponed following discussions between the Banner and Dublin.

The Dubs had been vehemently opposed to the idea, with manager Shane O'Brien stating last week that his players had sacrified too much for their championship fate to be decided in such a manner.

"We've met together as a group 93 times (this season) and it's hugely disrespectful to the efforts the players have made. They've given up their lives for this competition and it's devaluing the competition at this stage," he said.
