O'Donnell not thinking of four-in-a-row

Shane O'Donnell insists Clare's U21 hurlers aren't thinking of the four-in-a-row.

The Banner County have captured the last three Munster and All-Ireland titles in the U21 grade and they open the defence of their crowns at home to a strong-looking Waterford outfit tomorrow night.

O'Donnell  - who was on the all-conquering 2013 and 2014 sides - points out that as this is a new season and essentially a new set-up, the U21s are starting from scratch rather than setting out to defend their All-Ireland:

"No, we don't see it like that," he states in The Irish Times. "I think with the U21s, it's easy to think of it as a new year every year, because you lose so many players from the year before.

"So you're not thinking we can be going for four-in-a-row, because from three years ago, none of the players are left. So I don't think it's difficult to be like 'new year, new team, don't think on the past'.

"There are a lot of new lads alright. Gerry [O'Connor, co-manager] has moved on as well, although Donal [Moloney] is still with us. I haven't been training much with them but it's going as seamlessly as it ever was now."
