Munster champions Tipperary and defeated finalists Waterford each have four players on our hurling team of the week ...

1. Darren Gleeson (Tipperary)

Thwarted Colin Dunford with an excellent second-half save and his puck-out strategy worked a treat.

2. Shane Fives (Waterford)

Landed two long range points and Waterford supporters will be hoping for more of the same in the last eight against Dublin.

3. Barry Coughlan (Waterford)

Can't be faulted for the Deise's five point defeat as he held Seamus Callanan scoreless from play.

4. Cathal Barrett (Tipperary)

The former Young Hurler of the Year rarely put a foot wrong in the Premier County's defence.

5. Aidan Walsh (Cork)

Cork fans will have been delighted with Walsh's return to form in Saturday evening's qualifier win over Clare.

6. Mark Ellis (Cork)

Performed the sweeper role to telling effect in the Rebel County's three point victory.

7. Brendan Maher (Tipperary)

The Tipp captain was extremely effective when dropping back to curtail Kevin Moran's impact.

8. Bill Cooper (Cork)

Cooper ran himself to a standstill, covering practically every blade of the Semple Stadium pitch.

9. Daire Plunkett (Dublin)

Justified his late inclusion with a performance full of energy in the Metropolitans' engine room.

10. Kevin Moran (Waterford)

The Deise captain left Thurles empty handed but they can still have a major say in the destination of the Liam McCarthy Cup in the weeks ahead.

11. Tony Kelly (Clare)

The 2013 Hurler of the Year took the fight to Cork, sending over four points from play, but that was of little consolation to him at the final whistle.

12. John O'Dwyer (Tipperary)

Grabbed the Munster final by the scruff of the neck when moving out the field and raised three white flags from play.

13. Paul Ryan (Dublin)

Repaid Ger Cunningham's faith in him with 12 points (six from play) against Limerick.

14. Maurice Shanahan (Waterford)

Put his name to half of his team's final tally of 16 points and his individual haul included three points from play.

15. Patrick Horgan (Cork)

Four late points from Horgan helped to push Cork over the line with their noses in front.
