Clare manager Davy Fitzgerald has stated that having a full strength squad to choose from makes a big difference at this stage of the campaign.

The Banner will take on Cork on Saturday evening in the second round of the qualifiers and for one side, their campaign will come to an end.

Fitzgerald has the likes of Colm Galvin and Pat Donnellan back available to him and he admitted to the Clare Champion that they are heading in the right direction.

"It is important to have a full squad available," said Fitzgerald. "We have a strong panel, Paddy can't walk straight back into the team, he knows that.

"There will be a selection process that will decide that. I had a lot more fellas to pick from. We are getting back to what we need but we are still not right.

"We are getting back there and we will. We are enjoying what we are doing. Win, lose or draw, once we can go out and give an absolute belter of a performance that shows courage and passion and what Clare is about, then we will take that.

"That's what we are about, being courageous and showing plenty of passion and pride."
