Clare midfielder Colm Galvin admits that he will miss the buzz of championship days as he spends the summer in New York.

Galvin has opted to spend the next few months playing hurling with the Tipperary club in New York and will depart Ireland on April 28th.

This means he will miss the entire All-Ireland campaign with Clare and despite some gentle persuasion from Davy Fitzgerald to not go, the talented hurler has his mind made up.

However, Galvin admitted to the Clare Champion that there is no doubt that he will miss the bigger games of the year which begins with the clash against Limerick next month.

"What I'll miss is the big match days and the preparation for that," said Galvin. ""I wish the lads the best of luck for the year and I hope they bring back silverware. I'll be out there watching them on TV whenever they are playing."
