Things are beginning to get interesting in the hurling leagues, check out our team of the week ...

1. Anthony Nash (Cork)

The Cork goalmouth led charmed life at times but Nash left Pearse Stadium with a clean sheet.

2. Cathal Barrett (Tipperary)

The Kilkenny forward division malfunctioned when faced with the close attentions of Barrett and his defensive colleagues.

3. Matthew O'Hanlon (Wexford)

Captain O'Hanlon led by example as the Model County were forced to pull out all the stops to see off the gutsy challenge of Laois.

4. David McInerney (Clare)

The switch of McInerney on to Liam Rushe midway through the first half proved to be a shrewd decision by Davy Fitz and his backroom team.

5. David Collins (Galway)

Collins and the Tribesmen came up short against Cork but results elsewhere went their way.

6. Padraic Maher (Tipperary)

The personal duel between the Premier centre-back and Hurler of the Year Richie Hogan was worth the admission price to Semple Stadium alone.

7. Mark Ellis (Cork)

The Rebel centre-back cleared Joe Canning's injury-time 20m free off the line as Jimmy Barry Murphy's charges held on to book their place in the knock-out stages.

8. Paul Browne (Limerick)

The Treaty County let promotion slip through their hands but midfielder Browne can be exonerated of any blame for their loss to Offaly.

9. Patrick Kelly (Kerry)

Carlow's unbeaten record in Division 2A was brought to an end by a Kelly-inspired Kerry in Netwatch Cullen Park.

10. Ian Byrne (Wexford)

Byrne raised 15 white flags in total (12 from placed balls) as Liam Dunne's side set up a winner-takes-all clash against Waterford next Sunday.

11. Tony Kelly (Clare)

The 2013 Hurler of the Year pounced for a goal four minutes from time to help the Banner County over the line against Dublin while he also contributed nine points to their overdue success.

12. Pauric Mahony (Waterford)

Mahony and the Deise ran riot against Antrim and finished with a massive 32 points to spare in a one-sided encounter at Walsh Park.

13. Shane Dooley (Offaly)

Dooley was a constant thorn in the side of the Limerick defence as the Faithful enjoyed an unexpected victory in Division 1B.

14. Seamus Callanan (Tipperary)

The Tipp full-forward finished with 1-7 (1-3 from play) to his name against the Cats and also set up Niall O'Meara for their second goal in the 54th minute.

15. Paudie O'Sullivan (Cork)

The Cloyne forward's two goals were the key ingredients in Cork's winning formula and he also chipped in with a point from play.
