The Munster Council is pumping €3.75 million into the redevelopment of Pairc Ui Chaoimh.
The contribution is part of a €6.25 million investment in infrastructure in the province, with the remaining €2.5 million being divided equally between the five other Munster counties - Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, Waterford and Clare.
The grant for Pairc Ui Chaoimh means Cork will only need to raise €16.25 million themselves towards the cost of €70 million project, with the Government and the Central Council having pledged €30 million and €20 million respectively.
Work on the new stadium is expected to start soon.
Munster Council chairman Robert Frost said in a statement: "We have set out a clear five-year budgetary framework that will see no further investment in major capital projects for the next five years.
"Once this five-year cycle is up, the Council will reassess the financial situation and implement another five-year budget, based on the considered infrastructural requirements in the province."
