O'Keeffe vacates minor post

October 10, 2014

Aidan O'Keefe has informed the Clare county board that he will not be continuing in his role as minor football manager in 2015.

It was revealed that "sudden unforeseen change in his circumstances due to a family illness" was the reason behind O'Keeffe's decision to step down and he informed board chairman Michael McDonagh, who paid tribute to his services to the Banner county.

"Aidan has been responsible for bringing four or five young players through to a level where they are now playing senior football," McDonagh told The Clare Champion.

He added: "I understand Aidan's position and I take this opportunity, on behalf of the board and Clare GAA, to thank him for the efforts to date."

The board have already began the process to find a replacement for O'Keeffe ahead for next season.
