Clare hurling boss Davy Fitzgerald says the door is open for Collins brothers, Podge and Sean, to rejoin the county panel should they wish to do so.

Fitzgerald sang the duo's praises after last Sunday's Clare senior hurling club final, which saw the pair starring in Cratloe over Crusheen, describing them as "absolutely fantastic lads".

However, Fitzgerald will only consider a recall for the brothers if they decide to concentrate exclusively on hurling next year.

"I've great time for them - absolutely fantastic lads and they gave their all (for Cratloe)," Fitzgerald told Newstalk.

"Of course they'll always be welcome back. It's very hard to do both. It was a tough decision to make but that's my job, that's what I've got to do."
