Paudie Kissane has stepped down as Clare football coach.

The former Cork All-Ireland winner and All Star took up the role shortly after announcing his inter-county retirement last year. He worked alongside manager Colm Collins as Clare won promotion from Division 4 of the Allianz League before embarking on an extended championship run which ended with a heart-breaking defeat to Kildare.

But it has now emerged that Kissane won't be returning to the role next year, with former joint-manager Donie Buckley - who was part of James Horan's Mayo management team up until last weekend - touted as a possible replacement.

Meanwhile, there is speculation that changes to Clare hurling manager Davy Fitzgerald's management team are likely, with reports suggesting that Joe O'Connor and Paul Kinnerk are to vacate their roles as strength and conditioning coach and coach / trainer respectively.
