O'Connor not taking Antrim for granted

Clare joint-manager Gerry O'Connor is refusing to underestimate Antrim ahead of next Saturday's All-Ireland U21HC semi-final in Thurles.

The three-in-a-row chasing Banner hammered the Ulster side in last year's All-Ireland final, but O'Connor expects them to be a different proposition this time around.

"When you look at the performance they turned in against Wexford last year, we are under no illusions as to the task we face," he tells the Clare Champion.

"They will feel they underperformed in last year's final and they have nine of that panel available to them. We will not be taking them lightly."

Clare are almost certain to be without senior star Shane O'Donnell after he suffered a broken bone in his hand in last month's emphatic Munster final victory over Cork, while Jamie Shanahan and Jarlath Colleran are also nursing knocks.
