Cratloe's appeal thrown out

July 04, 2014
Cratloe's appeal to the Munster Council's Hearing Committee against the decision to postpone four of the five Clare SHC games fixed for last weekend has been ruled out of order.

Cratloe, who were due to meet champions Sixmilebridge in a crucial Group 3 encounter last Sunday, were unhappy with the decision by the Clare senior hurling management to invoke the 13-day rule, which left county players unavailable for club duty ahead of tomorrow's All-Ireland qualifier against Wexford.

Ballyea had also indicated that they would lodge an appeal with the provincial body, only to change their mind.

"We didn't proceed with the appeal as we felt it might distract from the Clare v Wexford game this Saturday and we didn't want to do that. We didn't want to undermine the players' preparation," Ballyea chairman Patrick Moylan said in the Clare Champion.
