Tony Brady (Castlerahan) - New Co. Board Coaching Officer
17 January 2008
Former Cavan and Castlerahan player, Tony Brady is the new Cavan Co. Board Coaching Officer for 2008. Tony who has been involved with all grades of football from U-14 upwards with a fair degree of success with his club, Casterahan is looking forward to this new challenge in his involvement with the GAA in Co. Cavan.
A former county senior player, county minor team-manager, and a man who contributed so much to the emergence of the Castlerahan club as a major force in recent years, especially at under-age level is delighted to be putting something back to the sport that has given him so much enjoyment down the years as a player, club official and also in team-management.
He feels more former county players should get involved with their clubs or indeed the county set-up after their playing days are over, and can find coaching and looking after under-age teams a very rewarding and enjoyable past-time.
Tony feels there is much work to be done at under-age levels in Co. Cavan, although he admitted that excellent organisation and progress in coaching has been done in recent times. "Hopefully, this will be shown in the inter-county arena especially at minor and U-21 levels in the coming years, he added.
Tonys son, Sean is a current member of the Castlerahan senior team and a member of the county panel, and is highly rated as one of the best young forward prospects in the Breffni county at the present time.
