Four names have been put forward for the vacant Cavan minor football managerial post by the county's clubs.

The county board will now have to decide between John Brady, Jimmy Higgins, Frank Brady and Micheál O'Rourke to select a successor to Mullahoran's Danny Brady, who recently stepped down after one season in charge.

John Brady is over the county's U16 development squad and is currently preparing them for a third consecutive Gerry Reilly Cup final appearance on Sunday against Dublin in Milbrook, Oldcastle (throw-in 7.30pm).

Higgins has enjoyed a successful spell with the Crosserlough club to date, winning several underage Division One championships, while fellow club man O'Rourke, whose father Gerry previously held the post, has been involved with Killygarry's impressive minor side this year.

Former Monaghan minor boss Frank Brady, a native of Athenry in Galway, completes the list of four and arguably brings the most experience at this level, having steered the Farney County to Ulster success in 2013 and enjoyed junior championship success in Cavan with both Drumlane and Kill.

Nominations for the role close tomorrow (Friday) and a new manager is expected to be appointed in the coming weeks.
