A late point from John L McGee narrowed the margin to a point giving Kilmainham a 0-7 to 1-3 lead at the break.
Kilmainham registered the first two points of the second-half before Dermot McGee replied with a point for Carnaross. However, by the time Carnaross registered their next point a rampant Kilmainham side had registered 2-5 as they completely dominated proceedings. Patrick Nugent converted a free for Carnaross with five minutes remaining but their bad afternoon was compounded when Kilmainham added another 1-2 before the final whistle sounded.
