Limerick lose out in Munster Semi-Final clash

Limerick 0-7 (0-5) Tipperary 0-14 (0-6)

Munster Senior Semi-Final

Saturday 9th May in The Ragg

Limerick fell short in their Munster Senior Camogie Semi-Final clash with Tipperary, losing out by 0-7 to 0-14 at the Ragg on Saturday last.

Limerick have had the better of recent encounters between the sides winning the equivalent fixture last year as well as an emphatic victory in the National League in March.
Indeed the Shannonsiders had the best of the opening quarter posting three points before Tipperary got on the scoreboard.

But Tipperary rallied and opened a lead three point lead of their own only for Limerick to close the gap to a single point at the break.

Goals were proving hard to come by with both keepers in top form. Caoimhe Lyons was denied at one end and Sile Moynihan pulled off three excellent stops at the other.

But in the second half Tipperary extended their lead and restricted Limerick to two points in the second half to run out deserving winners on the day.

Limerick will no doubt regroup as they focus on their opening championship clash with Offaly on June 20th.

Limerick Scorers:

Niamh Mulcahy 0-6, Caoimhe Costelloe 0-1

League Review:

The first of the adult League Finals were decided on Sunday last. Newcastle West were crowned Senior B champions as they overcame Adare/Croagh Kilfinny with a strong second half surge to win by 3-15 to 1-7.

Murroe Boher continued their great progress at all grades to be crowned Intermediate champions with an emphatic 4-9 to 0-8 win over near neighbours Cappamore. Finally Killeedy won a closely contested Intermediate Plate Final beating Galbally by 2-7 to 1-5.

In other games Killeedy beat Ballyagran in the Senior Semi-Final replay and go forward to meet Ahane in the final. And in the Junior Semi-Finals Shannonside and Newcastle West beat Kilmallock and Templeglantine respectively and will meet in the final this weekend. Both finals to be played next Saturday, times and venues to be confirmed
