April 07, 2014
Irish Daily Star League
Armagh 2-10
Westmeath 2-09
Last Sunday Westmeath played Armagh in an away fixture in Mullaghbawn GAA grounds to conclude the divisional round of the Irish Daily Star League Division 3. Both teams had already secured their semi-final spots, however this did not take away from the competitiveness of the match. At half time the score line was 2-05 to 1-04 in Armagh's favour. However Westmeath worked hard in the second half to take the lead but Armagh showed determination to regain the lead and won by the narrowest of margins. The semi-final of the league will be played on Sunday 20th April and at this stage we expect to be playing against Armagh in the semi-final. Scorers for Westmeath were Dinah Loughlin 1-07; Denise McGrath 0-02; Mairead Mc Cormack 1-00.
