Paul Curran's inter-county hurling career appears to be at an end after he was released from the Tipperary panel.

A number of newspapers are reporting this morning that the 33-year-old defender is one of 10 players to be trimmed from Eamon O'Shea's squad as the championship nears. The 2012 Munster SHC winning captain lined out at corner back in Tipp's recent Allianz League semi-final defeat to Waterford, but it now looks as if that might have been his last appearance in a stellar 14-year career.

O'Shea is expected to confirm his 30-man championship panel a few weeks before Tipp's Munster SHC semi-final against either Clare or Limerick.

Tom Stapleton, Shane Bourke, David Butler, Micheal Butler, Bill Maher, Sean Maher, Stephen Maher, Joe O'Dwyer and Liam Treacy have also been released from the squad.
