freilly, Too hard to pick players. I hear there is some not going back.

Crystal Ball Gazing & assuming all to be available etc ..

Players below may not be the best necessarily .. I'm going for a bit of size as I believe we lack size and bulk in important area's ..

1) B Norman - Eire Og ( Travers wont be back next year due to injury I believe )
2)C Hyland - Arklow Gers/Ballymoney
3)D Power - Rathnew
4)A Byrne - Annacurra
5)P McWalter - St Pats ( if back fit )
6)A McLoughlin - Blessington
7)P McLoughlin - Blessington
8)C.McGraynor - Avondale ( Unproven at this level , but showing good form for Avondale and a giant of a young man )
9)J. Stafford ( needs to be a lot fitter and up for it than last year .. very tempted to put in Young Keogh )
10)L Glynn - Rathnew . Would drop him in as sweeper in from of McLoughlin and let him drive out of defence
11) J.McGrath - Baltinglass . Hopefully he can take frees too as no place for Tony Hannon in my side
12) D.Hayden - Eire Og . Consistent and great on the ball
13)S. Furlong - Kiltegan . Needs to be a lot fitter and trimer than last year. Give himn benefit of doubt
14)P.Burke - Baltinglass . Big Target Man
15) D Siney - Blessington


Places also could be made for Paddy Byrne Shillelagh ( probably wont commit to County though ) , Mick McLoughlin , Brian McGrath , Paul Earls , Tony Hannon ( on a going day ) ..

Panel wise , if all players available , we would have an impressive enough 25 ..

Some I have seen play well so far this year

B.O'Donovan (small bit too slow but playing very well at the moment.)
S.Murley (PAt's best defender)
P.McLoughlin (In the games I have seen of Blessington, he is their engine)
N.Gaffney (Technically very gifted and unlucky not to get more games for Wicklow)
J.McGrath (same as above)
H.Sinnott (Extremely lively corner forward. All thats missing is that killer instinct)
M.Mangan (good young midfielder from Stratford. Bit small but a workhorse)
P.Burke (A great target man in the full forward line for Baltinglass)
C.McGraynor (Playing some excellent stuff for Avondale and a clean pair of hands. 6ft 5 should be groomed in for senior county)
R.O'Brien (Aughrim corner forward who is banging in scores)
I.McDonald (Seen this lad play championship recently, Scored an unbelievable lob against Valleymount)
P.Byrne (Shillelagh main man. Scored 2-5 vs Kilbride. Always an eye for goal. Something Wicklow lack as Glynn and Furlong only 2 real forwards who attack. Earls is made play defensive and Hannon is his usual self. Odlum just never seems to shine for Wicklow in championship)
A.Murphy (Think this lad was minor last year. Reminds me of McWalter and can take a heavy hit too)

@whocares These girls play for st pats so they can play at there own age they are already a strong part of eire og on the starting team. Eire og are already a strong senior team playing at u16 level will better them as senior training and coaching in eire og would.

ponger - you sum up the tactical outcomes of the w/meath game fairly accurately but you portray it as if there were tactics involved. let me just say to all that Micko DOES NOT do tactics. his way is laps and laps and more laps and simply picking a team

THAT IS IT. END OF STORY. nothing else

he simply says to earls to play in the middle third hoping that earls will know exactly what to do.

no talking to anyone else. 15 players heading out on the pitch - hoping that it goes well

current regime = laps > long distance fitness > team picked

i'd be very disappointed for all the clubmen who play if under Micko - they are disimproving in their prime
