County Seniors - Well done to Wicklow Seniors who beat London today in Aughrim. Wicklow 0-17, London 2-04. Well done to our club lads Anto McLoughlin, Paul McLoughlin, David Boothman and Mikey O'Connor.  Next up is a home game v Wexford on Sun 5 Mar at 2pm. Please support the lads.

County Ladies - Another great win for the Ladies who had a fantastic away win v Derry 5-09 to 2-2. That's 4 out of 4 for the ladies Well done to our own 5 club ladies - Shauna, Shona, Molly, Amy and Kim. Next game on 19 Mar at home to Louth.     

U21 Leinster Football Championship -  Wicklow v Louth which was to be played on Wed 22 Feb in Baltinglass was cancelled due to the weather.  

G4M&O - Award night for the ladies in Murphy's at 7.30pm on 4 Mar at 7.30pm. Training on Wed 7pm to 8pm at the kicking wall for the next 2 weeks.  New playing members are always welcome. Date for your diary- Club registration evening 28 Feb in the clubhouse for boys U7 to U17 hurling and football. 7.30pm - 9pm. The girl's registration will take place at the same time from U8 - U16 can be registered on the night.  

Pricing: For the first time both boys and girls will now pay the same amount in the club. Breakdown of fees are on the registration forms and now includes the use of the astro pitch for all teams that used it at no additional charge. Prices for 2016 are therefore set at: One Child € 90. Two Children € 170. Three Children € 250. Four (+) Children € 300 (Max Amount to be paid per family*). Adult (Non Playing) €45 **

* The max price is the maximum price to be paid for all members of the one family and includes Adult and Juvenile members.

** The club operates a Lotto which is held every two weeks. There are discounts for all membership types if you sign up to play the lotto regularly. More details on registration, subscriptions and the Club Lotto are available on the club website.

Payment will be accepted in full up front, or in three part payments, one on registration night/first week of training, next instalment the end of March and balance due at the end of April.

Training times for Juveniles - Academy (Ages 4 - 6): (Born in 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014* Once they turn 4)
The Blessington GAA Football Academy will recommence on Sat 4 Mar at 10.00am to 11.15am and will run every Sat morning in the GAA Grounds. The Academy caters for boys and girls aged 4 - 6 years. The priority of the Academy is to have fun and to introduce the children to the basic skills of Gaelic Football. We will run until the end of October.

U7 & U9 Boys: (U7 - Born in 2010 & 2011 / U9 - Born in 2008 & 2009). Training will be on Sat mornings, commencing 4 Mar at 10.00am - 11.30am. This year the boys will be playing in Wicklow Go Games and in the North Kildare League. U9's will also train on Mon evenings at 6.30pm to 7.30pm. Start date will be confirmed at training.

U8 & U10 Girls: (U8 - Born in 2009 & 2010 / U10 - Born in 2007 & 2008). Training will be on Tues evenings, commencing 7 Mar at 6.00pm - 7.00pm. Both our girl's teams will be playing in LGFA organised Blitzes and in the North Kildare League.

U11 Boys: (Born in 2006 & 2007). Training will be on Mon & Wed evenings 6.30pm - 7.45pm.

U12 & U14 Girls: (U12 - Born in 2005 & 2006 / U14 - Born in 2003 & 2004). Training has already re-commenced for both teams and will be on Tues & Thurs evenings at 7.00pm - 8.00pm from Tues 7 Mar.

U15 Boys: (Born in 2002 & 2003). They have commenced training on Mon evenings at 6.00pm - 7.00pm. From 6 Mar training will be on Mon and Wed evenings at 6.45pm - 8.00pm.

U17 boys: (Born in 2000 & 2001). Training on Mon and Wed evenings 7pm - 8.30pm.

Hurling: U7, U8 & U9 hurling will be running in the Community College on Wed evenings at 5.45pm - 7.00pm and from the end of March move to Thurs evening on the club pitches at 6.00pm - 7.15pm.

U10 NKL: Training resumes at hurling wall on Thurs 2 Mar at 6.30pm - to move to pitches when evenings are brighter. Although training has started for some teams, new members are always welcome, at all ages.

Easter Camp -  Our Annual Football Easter Camp will take place on the FIRST week of Easter Midterm (between 10-14 April.  Full details will be announced soon.

La na gClubanna - This is a great day for the families from the club and community and will be held on Sun 6 May at the pitch. On the same day, we will be planting a "Tree of Hope" in the grounds. The tree of hope is a national symbol of hope to families who have been affected by suicide. If anyone would like to sponsor the tree, please call Noreen on 0872858375.

Cul Camp - Football 10 July - 14 Jul and hurling 24 - 28 July.

Young whistlers - Well done to Eoin Kavanagh and Eoin Higgins who took part in the young whistlers training in Dunlavin on Wed 22 Feb.  

Leinster GAA League Rd 1 U13 and U15 - The U13's played away to Dunboyne on Sat 25 Feb. It was a very competitive game with Blessington taking an early lead, Dunboyne fought back well and won the game on a score line of 3-06 to 1-06. The lads played their best game to date in the league and were unfortunate to have not scored 2 or 3 goals themselves. Next up for U13 is on Sat 11 Mar at home v Simonstown Gaels (Meath). U15 Rd 4 at home v Simonstown Gaels Sat 25 Feb was cancelled due to unplayable pitches.

U12 and U13 boys - Training this week: Wed on Astro 7pm to 8pm. The lads have finishes an 8 week pre-season core fitness training session with Billy Loughlin from Ballymore Eustace Boxing club it has been a really enjoyable and beneficial experience for the coaches and kids.

Lotto -21 Feb 2017. No jackpot winner. 3/10/13/25 numbers drawn. 3 Match 3 winners each receive €100. Adam Phibbs, Bob Boothman, Eoin Howlin. Next draw 21st February in Reids. Strictly Blessington Take 2 - In 3 weeks' time Strictly Blessington Take 2 will take place in Citywest Hotel for a spectacular night's entertainment. 32 dedicated dancers will take to the stage to perform a variety of dances which will be a culmination of their hard work since Jan 30. They have practiced tirelessly week after week, made wonderful friends and supported each other in their fundraising efforts and continue to fundraise and sell tickets. Please support them in their efforts because they are doing it for Blessington GAA and club is family. If you would wish to support any of the dancers, by sponsoring, advertising or buying contact Catherine, Lilly, Tara, Lisa, Noelle or Lisa.
