Fergal Ógs - Club Notes

September 26, 2016

Juveniles:
Our U10's footballers played their last football fixture of 2016 on Friday 23rd, when they travelled to Enniskerry. A great performance from the side rounded off what has been a great season of football at that age level. Key to the sides performance on the night were Dennis Vickers who chipped in with an abundance of goals and points, while Cian Egan dominated in midfield, with Jack Cox Fitzpatrick and Danielle Doyle mopping up many of the balls that came their way at the back. Megan Keogh, Luke Fisher and Wayne Moorehouse also got their names on the score sheet to contribute towards an impressive Fergal Ógs scoring tally.
We must thank St. Mary's Enniskerry GAA Club for hosting the tie.
The Fergal Ógs team: Adam Windsor, Jack Cox Fitzpatrick, Cian Egan, Danielle Doyle, Robert, Dennis Vickers, Ruby O'Connor, Wayne Moorehouse, Luke Fisher, Megan Keogh.
With the football done and dusted, our U10's, along with our U12's, will be turning their attention back to hurling with the Autumn hurling league just around the corner.
The 1st round of the competition will commence on Friday 30th when the club will play host to St. Patrick's. We will have further encounters against Glenealy, Kilcoole, Eire Óg and Cuala, with our juvenile season coming to a close in late October/early November.
If your child is interested in playing in our remaining juvenile fixtures, our training for U10's is Thursday 6-7pm in Ballywaltrim Park, while our U12's training is Tuesday 3.15-4.15pm in Ballywaltrim Park. With some big games ahead, all newcomers are more than welcome.

Men's Football:
Our men's football team will be playing Kilcoole at Schools Road on Wednesday 28th in the Schweppes's Cup. Best of luck to the lads!

Many thanks to Gary O'Neill, Jason Sommers, Daniel Kennedy and Éamonn McKenna for participating in the stewarding of Hell and Back in Kilruddery recently, as part of a club fundraiser, in conjunction with Wicklow GAA. We owe a big thank you also to Wicklow GAA Operations Manager Dave Tutty who organised the event for us.

Our GAA National Club Draw tickets are currently on sale. Each ticket costs €10 with all proceeds going directly to the club. The top prize is a brand new Opel Corsa, with many other prizes on offer too.
We are currently on the look out for prizes for our 2016 Christmas raffle. If you can donate a prize or know a person/business who can donate something, it would be much appreciated. Once our prize list has been finalised, the tickets will go to print.
