AGBs Junior Ladies played An Tochar in Ballymoney on Sunday morning. This was the fist match since the AGB girls won their Championship final in recent weeks, and the girls arrived eager for glory again. A strong first half was put in by all, and the AGB girls went into the break 5-12 to 1-05. The second half followed suit with the AGB girls remaining strong and determined. An Tochar seemed to have regrouped during the half time break and came back determined against the AGB girls. The AGB girls didn't let it phase them and clocked up many more points. The match finished in AGBs favour 5-24 to 5-08.
AGB U12 Girls (Division 1) travelled to Ballinakill on Sunday morning to play Newtown in the U12 Girls (Division 1) finals. The AGB girls had a great game and there was some fantastic football on display from all the girls. A tough match for the U12s, but one that they gave their all in saw them finish as U12 Division 1 Final Winners with a score 1-09 to 0-07. Well done to the girls.
AGB U12 Girls (Division 4) also travelled to Ballinakill on Sunday morning to play Barndarrig in the U12 Girls finals. The girls put in huge efforts and fought until the final whistle. Unfortunately it wasn't to be their day and they finished runners up. To make it to the final is something which will stand to these young ladies in their next football season, and all at AGB are very proud of their efforts and achievements to reach the final.
AGB U8 Boys welcomed St. Pats to Pearses Park on Saturday morning to participate in a Blitz. Both St. Pats and AGB are strongly represented at U8 level and the pitch was full with young enthusiastic footballers, who haven't had much opportunity this season to showcase their footballing skills in matches. A great morning of fun and football was had, and all the participants and parents were then treated to a lovely spread curtsey of the AGB U8 parents.
AGBs U12 (Group 2) played Kilcoole in the U12s Mini League Final on Friday evening in Pearses Park. Two tough and strong U12s teams pushed each other to their limits in what played out to be a very close match. The AGB boys gave it their all and in a nail-biting finish they came away victorious in a one point difference, to lead at full time 4-10 to 4-09. The AGB boys celebrated in style and were presented with medals and a cup.
AGBs U12 (Group 1) team travelled to Ballinakill on Saturday morning to play in the second Mini League Final over the weekend. There they faced a strong Bray team. All the players, parents and coaches can be very proud of the lads. The future is looking bright for both AGB and Wicklow County with this group of players.
