Junior Ladies - The girls played Barndarrig on Thurs 25 Aug and what a game it was. A tough hard game and the girls gave it everything and their best game this year with strong tackling, really good team play and huge effort. Blessington had most of the possession in both halves and created most of the chances but couldn't convert the scores.  There was a point in it at half time and Barndarrig won by 4 points in the end but this was not a reflection on the possession or play. Great to get a full team out again compared to last year numbers have been up in all games. Final League match at home V An Tochar Thurs 1 Sept at 7.15pm.

U14's - Great win for Blessington U14 girls against Bray on Sat 27 Aug. Final score 7-10 to 5-06. This was the A championship quarter final. Semi-final in 2 weeks' time v AGB Date TBC.

Juvenile

Leinster Blitz - Our long-awaited Leinster Blitz was held in glorious sunshine on Sun 28 Aug. In total 24 teams played three group matches and a final each. The following clubs were represented including five Wicklow clubs, three Dublin clubs and three Kildare clubs. Wicklow teams: Blessington (U8,9,10), Baltinglass (U8,9,10), St Pat's (U8 ,9,10), Rathnew (U9,10), An Tochar (U8); Dublin Teams : Ballyboden (U9,10), Cuala (U8,9,10), St Mary's (U8); KIldare: Kill (U8,U9,U10); Maynooth (U8,U10); Naas (U9). The three Blesso teams did really well with U8's winning the Connaught final and the U10's coming out on top against Baltinglass in Ulster Final but Blesso team of the day was our U9's who edged out Ballyboden in their final. Overall Ballyboden topped the U10 section, Naas topped the U9 section and Kill topped the U8 section. It was a great day overall with everyone in club involved helping out in one way or another including our coaches who organised the blitz U8 (Wes Callaghan and Eddie Boylan) and U10 (Sean Dempsey, Jimmy Mulhall, Gerry Phibbs, Liam Small) and Jonathan Daniels who was also on organising committee. Thanks also to following: Ivan Smyth for sound system, all our refs who volunteered on day (Cian Nolan, James Jackson, Molly Cullen, Jess Brennan, Barry Behan, Pat Brennan, Liam Cullen), all the people who helped with traffic, all parents who helped with food teas etc., Barry Cotter and his team who relayed scores back, P Sargent for putting up tent, our County players who handed out medals (Anthony& Paul McLoughlin, Mikey & Patrick O'Connor), our photographer Barry Hamilton, and anybody else we've forgot. Also the U8's and U10's would like to thank the juvenile committee for all help and support and our Chairman Michael Sargent for his help throughout. We've had great feedback from all the clubs involved and hopefully this will become an annual event. The club would like to thank Kevin Gilmore for organizing along with all his committee and coaches.
