St Patricks club notes

July 25, 2016

Congratulations to the Wicklow Ladies who had an impressive win in the preliminary round of the All Ireland Intermediate Championship. They overcame a tough Roscommon side to pick up a victory in what was a great game. The final score was 4-13 to Roscommon's 3-09. A few of our own Senior Ladies are part of the panel; Niamh McGettigan, Rioghna McGettigan, Rose Fagan, Clodagh Fox, Eleanor Dunne and Niamh O'Brien, and Mick Kavanagh is also part of the Management team. We wish the team the best of luck in their next game against Down.

The Junior Ladies had their second outing in the Championship on Thursday evening. They had a home game against Blessington, but a few minutes into the second half a Blessington player went down with a back injury resulting in the game being abandoned after having to wait for over an hour for an ambulance to arrive. We all wish Jade Palmer of Blessington a speedy recovery to full health.

The Ladies now face An Tochar this Monday evening in Roundwood, throw in at 7.30pm. All support welcome.

Our U14 girls play Carnew in Division 3 semi-final in Dunbur at 7.45pm on Friday 29th.

Our Senior Hurlers faced Bray on Thursday night in the Senior Hurling Championship. They hurled out of their skins against the reigning County Champions but it was the Bray men who took the spoils after a 1-15 to 0-15 victory in Greystones.

Our Senior Men are out in the next round of the Senior Football Championship against Coolkenno on 30th July at 7.15pm in Aughrim. We hope to see everyone there!

Our Division 3 team received a walkover from Newcastle who could not field a team in Dunbur last Saturday, which was poor preparation for their final group game in the Junior A Championship against Bray Emmett's on Friday night in Greystones at 7.30pm

Our Minor footballers travel to Donard on Wednesday 27th to take on St Nicholas in the championship group game at 7.30pm

Well done to all involved in the Under 8s and 10s boys football blitz in Dunbur on Saturday 23rd July 2016. An entertaining afternoon of football was provided by St Patricks and the visiting team An Tochar.

It was a warm evening on Tuesday in St. Pats NS where our U8 Hurlers were busy training. Our Players of the Week were awarded to Senan Shorthall and David Burke! Well done boys.

This year's Football Cúl Camp takes place this week in Dunbur. If you haven't registered online, you can register on the day as places are still available. It will be a great week for all.

Our own Summer GAA Camp will take place from 9th-11th August in Dunbur. The Camp is for boys and girls aged 3-10, and held from 9.30am-1.30pm. You can contact Gary Duffy (0863529445). We hope to see you there!

There was no winner of this week's Club Lotto Draw of €3,800. Numbers drawn were 2, 5, 9 and 24. The bonus number was 11. Four people drew 3 numbers sharing the €250 prize; Jackie Ronan, John Cummins, Niamh O'Brien and Sophia Kavanagh. Thanks to the weekly Club Lotto Sellers who give up their time to help raise funds for the Club. It's greatly appreciated. Make sure you buy a ticket each week and you could be the winner of our Match 4 prize of €3,900 or Match 5 €10,000 jackpot!
