Wicklow clubs have voted to postpone the ratification of Jonny Magee as senior football manager for another year.
The County Board have given the former Dublin footballer the green light to stay in charge for a third term, but delegates want more time to discuss the matter with their clubs.
Rathnew chairman Bobby Dignam was opposed to reappointing Magee and following a lengthy discussion, it was decided that delegates would go back to their clubs to discuss the matter and that they would meet again next week.
Dignam was critical of Magee's record and the Wicklow People reports that he blasted the way the team was prepared.
"In two years that man has won four matches, and that's out of 24. Training five nights a week in the winter, who authorised this? We haven't a player on the field that can kick the ball over the bar," said Dignam.
"I'm of the opinion that the man is no good and I've maintained here all along that we would have to go back to our own men."
