Wicklow manager Johnny Magee feels that he is still the man to bring the Garden County forward.
Their year came to an end last weekend when Carlow defeated them in the SFC qualifiers at Netwatch Cullen Park.
Rumours were rife that there were angry scenes in the Wicklow dressingroom after the game, but Magee played down that when questioned by the Wicklow People.
"I spoke to the lads and I told them we're better than that. There was no bust up," said Magee who added that he was '100 per cent' the man to lead the county next year.
He added: "For me the hardest thing about it is that we didn't show what we are capable of. The players are gutted. I'm gutted. To go from the performance we put in against Laois and, listen, I've been involved in games like that, where you prepare as best you can but it just doesn't happen on the night."
