We had plenty of action this afternoon with three hurling games and a football match down for decision.

In the Ulster SFC, Monaghan and Down went head to head in Clones as the Mourne men looked to turn their year around.

The Leinster SHC continued as it reached the quarterfinal stage. Westmeath hosted Galway in Cusack Park, while Offaly entertained neighbours Laois in O'Connor Park.

Arguably the biggest game of the day was the meeting of Waterford and Clare in Semple Stadium.

This was the third meeting of the sides this year and a cracking game of hurling was expected.
