Intermediates - The Intermediate team lost to AGB at home on Sat 23 Apr in Div 2 of the SFL.  They trailed by 2pts at half time but were unable to pick up a second goal which would have narrowed the margin. Junior B  - Next up is home v Stratford on Thurs 28 Apr 7.15pm.

 

Minors - Our minors are at home v Pearse Gaels in Rd 5 of the league on Fri 29 Apr 7pm.

 

Physio - The club physio will be in the clubhouse on Tues at 7pm. Players training on the night will be given priority.

 

Ladies

Senior Ladies - Well done to our ladies on a much better performance in DL on Wednesday last v Croi Ro Naofa, a draw was the result & a well earned one with a score line of 3-10 to 2-13. Next up in DL is Round Towers Clondalkin this Wed 27 Apr at 7.30pm. Also League v Tinahely Sat 30 Apr at home at 6pm. Our 2015 Presentations (Div 2 League winners & players of the year) will take place in Murphy's Bar afterwards from 8.30pm. Well done to our players who ran 6K in Carnew on Sun 24 Apr to support Run for Shelly in Aid of Pieta House.

 

Wicklow Minors - Congrats to Amy Ryan on a standout performance with Wicklow Minors last Wed evening v Laois in the quarter final. Captain Shauna Byrne and Shona O'Connor were out of action for this game so best of luck to all three in the Semi Final.

 

G4M &O - Training Wed 6:45pm to 8pm. A big welcome to Lisa Carroll who have recently joined. Registration fees due for everybody, I would like to get all fees due for everybody completed by the end this week . Junior Ladies - The Juniors will train with the Senior Ladies on Mon 7:30pm to 9pm and on Thurs train with U16/Minor team on 7pm to 8pm. Next Game: Rd 5  At home Blessington 2 V Newtown scheduled for Sat 7 May  needs to be rescheduled. Date TBC Newtown unable to play on Sat and Blesso Seniors have game Sun 8 Apr. 

 

U8 & U10 - Our U10 girls travelled to Baltinglass for challenge games last Tuesday evening, both fielding 3 teams & some excellent display of football. Our U8's played the same opposition in a blitz on Sat morning in Blesso and again done brilliant. Well done to all.

 

Juvenile

U8's - NKL at home v Confey 2.30pm.

U9's - Our U9s continued their good run in the NKL when they played Carbury at home on Sat 23 Apr in a high scoring match with great skills on display from both sides. Challenge on Mon 25 Apr away v Naas 7pm. 

U10's - Our U10 NKL team are at home next Sat 30 Apr against Sallins 3.30pm.

U11's - U11's NKL were away V Caragh on Sat 23 Apr. The lads had a good start going in ahead at half time. A good game and the lads played well. Caragh had the advantage of a wind in the 2nd half and won the game on a narrow margin. The lads played well but it just wasn't their day.

U12's - NKL away v Kilcock 7pm on Wed 27 Apr. Training on Mon evening 6.30pm to 8pm for those not playing hurling and Wed 6.30pm to 8pm

U11/U12's - Match on Mon evening 6:30 to 8pm training and Wed 6:30 to 8pm.

U14 - Challenge at home v Eadestown on Mon 25 Apr 7.15pm.

 

U16's - Next up is away to Tinahely on Mon 2 May 7.15pm.

 

Hurling 

U8/U10 - Some of our U8 hurlers traveled to Stratford on Fri 22 Apr. It was our first outing this season and a first for some of our young players. We played 3 matches winning two of them. A great performance from all involved. Stratford put on a great spread afterwards to much delight from our players.  U8 and 10 training on Thurs night6.30pm - 7.30pm. U8/U10 Go Games in Stratford Fri 22 Apr at 7pm. U10 hurlers had two teams for Go Games in Stratford on Friday night. Both teams put in impressive performances against St. Kevin's / Dunlavin and Kiltegan. U8 and 10 training on Thursday night 6.30pm to 7.30pm.

 

U12 - Western Gaels away v Bray on Mon 2 Apr 7.15pm.

 

U14  - Michael Dwyers v North District 7pm. 

 

U16 - Dwyer's were beaten by a very good Kilardfey (group team of Kill, Ardclough and Confey) in R4 of Div 1 Kildare League Wed 21 Apr. Blessington represented by C.Murphy (2-04) D.Williamson (0-02), E. Higgins (0-01), K. Quinn and D. Phibbs. Final score Killardfey 02-15 Dwyer's 02-07. Dwyer's having had a perfectly legitimate goal midway through the second half disallowed. Next up final round against a very good Celbridge side away Wed 27 Apr. R2 Wicklow league match v North Wicklow Gaels Mon 25 Apr postponed as they cannot field. All Blessington chaps on Hurling panel to go to football training that night.

 

U15 County - Wicklow U15's beat Meath U15's in Dunganny Sat 23 Apr. Blessington represented on panel by C.Murphy and D.Phibbs. Final score 6-15 to 1-06. Paddy Moorehouse scoring a creditable 05-05 from play.

 

Lotto - Lotto results Tues 19 Apr. No jackpot winner. Numbers drawn were 6,7,11,27.  5 matched 3 numbers to win €60 each: Mona Magee, Sean and Jackie Boland, Byran Carroll, Downshire Park, Kathleen Donohoe and Mick Reid.

Strictly Blessington - The committee and dancers of Strictly Blessington presented the Chairman of Blessington GAA Michael Sargent with a cheque for €46,140.22 which was the amount following expenses raised following our Strictly Blessington event on 8 Apr in Citywest Hotel. Referee shortage - There is a shortage of referees in the county and if anyone is interested in a referee course please text Noreen on 0872858375. Please remember that Young Whistlers can only do U8 & U10, so if they wish to do U12 or U14 they must also do a further Referee course. Closing date is Friday 29th April, and we will organise the relevant courses for those interested.
