Wicklow Senior Football

Well done to our County Seniors and especially  to our club players Paul McLoughlin, Anto McLoughlin, Mikey O'Connor and Patrick O'Connor who beat Leitrim by one point 0-10 to 1-06 in Carrick on Shannon Sun 7 Feb.

 

Wicklow Senior Ladies

Well done to the Wicklow Ladies and especially to our club players Kim Connors and Molly Cullen who beat Limerick in Bray 0-13 to 0-09 on Sun 7 Feb. Behind by a point at half time Wicklow finished the game strongly to record their second victory on the bounce. First clean sheet for Kim Connors. Next up is away to Carlow.

Wicklow Ladies Minor

Hard luck to Wicklow Minor Ladies and particularly to our club girls Shauna Byrne , Amy Ryan, Shona O'Connor and Emma Reid who lost away to Meath on Sat 6 Feb.

 

Juveniles

U16 - Commence their Leinster League on Sat 13 Feb away to Naomh Martin (Louth) at 2.30pm. The lads had a good challenge v Two Mile House on Sat at the pitch. First time for this team to play together in two years.

Juvenile boys and girls Registration evening

Date for your diary - Juvenile registration night for boys aged U10 upwards football and hurling. Also registration for girls from U8 upwards will also take place on Wed 24 Feb at 8pm. Academy and boys U8 registrations will be taken on the first day of the season which is planned for Sat 27 Feb.

 

Coach Training

Award 1 coaching Youth/Adult football in Baltinglass. Dates 9,23 Feb, 9,16,23,30 Mar and 6 Apr. Cost is €80 and will be paid for by the club. Contact Paul Garrigan to register. The next Award 1 coaching course for us here in the West will be Oct.

BLESSINGTON GAA MID-TERM BLITZ - Fundraiser for Maura Reid for Strictly Blessington.

Hurling

Indoor Juvenile Hurling resumes Mon 15 Feb in Blessington CC for U12/11/10 kids and Wed 17 Feb for U9/8/7 kids. 5.45-7pm. Text 086-8317164 to book place. Cost €15. This will run for 5 wks with a Finals night on last evening 14 Mar. Open to all kids in Blessington, Lacken / Manor Kilbride area.

Strictly Blessington

Tickets all ready to go for the Blessington GAA Strictly Blessington event. Once they're gone they're gone! Make sure you get yours. Biggest event the community of Blessington will see in 2016.This event will take place in Citywest Hotel on Fri 8 Apr 2016. 8 weeks and counting. It would be great to get another couple to take part and maximise our fundraising efforts. This event is costing a lot of money to run and it would be great to get as many dancers as we can get on the night. We promise that anyone that takes part will have the best experience. Potential dancers can be parents of a child attending the club, players over 18 or from a business in the town. Professional choreographers will put everyone through their paces starting on Thurs 25 Feb. You don't have to be a dancer just willing to fundraise and have a great time. Training for dancers will commence on 25 Feb in St Joseph's Hall and our launch will be in Avon Ri on Sun 6 Mar where the dancers will find out who their partners are and what dance they will be performing. This will be a sell out event and your support would be greatly appreciated. There are a few fundraising events being run by the dancers. Next up is a  table quiz in Hennessy's on Fri 12 Feb which is being organised by Barry Behan, Roisin Ellis, Edel Finnegan and Ger Vahilly (Magee). The gang has also tickets on sale for fab prizes 1 for €2 or book of 6 €5. Tina Anderson has tickets for sale for a hamper  (value €250)in Martikas As well as recruiting dancers the Strictly committee are busy selling advertising in the Strictly Blessington brochure. €150 for a full page and €75 for a half page.
