An appeal by the Baltinglass GAA club in Wicklow has finally drawn to a close after the Croke Park Hearings Committee ruled in favour of the Wicklow CCC.

Baltinglass had appealed a decision by the Wicklow CCC to award Blessington the league points in a Division 1 clash after Baltinglass failed to travel to the match.

Leinster Council had heard the case on two occasions and when no resolution was found, the case then went to Croke Park.

The Hearings Committee at Croke Park ruled in favour of the Wicklow CCC stating that Baltinglass had no grounds for their appeal.

Baltinglass feel aggrieved by the outcome as the game had been initially scheduled for Donard on Saturday evening, December 5th, but that pitch was unavailable and the game was moved to Bray and re-fixed for an earlier time on the same day.

The Baltinglass club informed the Wicklow County Board that they would be unable to travel and the game was subsequently awarded to Blessington.
