Seniors

Div 1 league play off Blessington v Baltinglass on Fri 27 Nov at 8pm in Donard. This is a vital match for the club so please support the lads. Good luck lads.

Well done to the club who hosted the Swan Cup Final Baltinglass v Kilmacanogue on Sun 22 Nov. Thanks to John Magee Snr who had the pitch in great condition and opening up etc. Thanks to the umpires Peter Behan, Kevin Hamilton and Paul Breen. Great to see Community Person of the Year Barry Hamilton present and taking photos for the Wicklow People. Well done to all. Well done to John Magee Snr for helping to drive the Blessington GAA Development Draw which took place last week.

Ladies Notes

Hard luck to the ladies who lost to Tinahely by 4 pts in the Senior Ladies League Final on Sunday 22 Nov but the ladies ended their year with a positive performance.

Presentation evening - The girls presentation evening took place in the Blessington Community College last Tues 17 Nov. Awards were presented to our U8's, U10's, U12's. U14's and U16's. Well done to you all. List of winners next week.

Juvenile Notes:

Ray Daniels Cup Fixtures 2015 - Ray Daniels fixture finally took place on Sun 22 Nov away to Kiltegan. Unfortunately, we lost 12 scores to 5. Next week we are at home to An Tochar. Date and time to be confirmed.

Allen Cup Fixtures 2015 - Allen cup fixtures also finally took place away to Baltinglass on Fri 20. The team was a very young one and unfortunately we lost 15-3. Next weekend we are away to St Kevin's. Date and time to be confirmed.

Training

Goalkeeping coaching workshop presented by Gary Matthews on Sat 28 Nov in Ballinakill from 10am - 12.30pm. All club goalkeepers and Club coaches are invited to attend, Contact Paul Garrigan on 083 4366801. €5 per coach.

 

Wicklow Gaa Coaching and Games will be running a Concussion Awareness Online Course from on the learning.gaa.ie page from the 18 Nov to the 18 Dec. The aim of the course is help GAA players and coaches recognise the signs and symptoms of concussion and understand the principles of managing the injury. The course will cover what concussion is, what are the typical signs and symptoms, action plan, return to play protocol and management in children. This course is a information online workshop and coaches must register first on the new learning.gaa.ie website. Contact Noreen for further information.
