U14 Division 1 Girls
Relief for the U14 girls as they reach the Championship Final despite defeat in Bray on Sunday morning, the 20th. The girls couldn't get a grip of the game and trailed by 9 points at half-time. Another Bray goal at the start of the second left 12 between the teams and AGB finally woke up with this being Bray's last score of the game. The damage was done however and despite a spirited fight back the game ended with 2 points between the sides. Bray 4-5 AGB 2-9.

The girls will train hard for a showdown with old foes St. Pats in Ballinakill on Oct 10th, having won their group by score difference.

Junior Ladies
On Friday evening, the 18th, the Junior Ladies travelled over to the west of the county to face Kilbride in their last away game of the season. In unpleasant conditions, AGB started strongly with Claire Murray and Lisa Keegan excelling at midfield with their link play from the defence to attack. Kilbride found their attacks breaking down because of the tenacious tackling and harassment by the AGB defence, with Maebh O'Connor playing a starring role at centre back and ably assisted by the strong running of Emily Mitchell and Molly Lee and when the half back line was by passed, Kilbride had Kayleigh Earls and Emer Curran to contend with and as usual, there was little joy for the home team. In attack Doireann O'Reilly was dominating her opponent by dropping into space and setting up numerous attacks and together with the strong running and awareness of Anne Marie Keegan and Doireann Kavanagh, who scored a super goal, were feeding great ball into the full forward line and causing panic to the opposition. Katie Furlong, Aoife O'Reilly and Aisling Appleby played great as a full forward unit, with Aisling taking over free taking responsibilities and doing so excellently. Last but not least was Laura Rice our goalkeeper whose kick outs had to be spot on with the strong runners of Kilbride. Laura found our half backs and midfielders with ease which in turn set up many attacks and eased the pressure on our defence and when Kilbride's full forward broke through for the only time of the match, was one on one with Laura, she pulled off a great save, and then the final whistle blew and AGB won by one point. A great result but most importantly a great performance by the fourteen that turned up and it made the home journey on the bus more sweet and loud!
