Senior Notes

Seniors - The lads got off to a great start with a 10 pt win over Tuam Stars in the FBD All Ireland Sevens in Kilmacud on Sat 19 Sep. 5-7 to 1-9.  Could have beaten Truagh but final score was 2-10 to 0-9. Beaten by Galls who were far too good. Team - Stephen Kitt, Mick McLoughlin, Anto McLoughlin, Steven Bohan, Kevin Hanlon, Barry Murphy, Curtis Geraghty, David Boothman, Jordan Nolan and Bryan Carroll.

Intermediates - Our intermediates lost out to Annacurra at Donard on Sun 20 Sep. Final score 2-14 to 1-8. Great second half performance by Blesso. Great to see Dean Siney back playing.

Minors - Blessington Minors must meet Eire Og Greystones again in the Renault Minor Football Championship Quarter Final replay on Tues 22 Sept in Ballinakill at 7.45pm.  Blesso met Eire Og on Fri 18 Sep in Bray and went in level at half time. Eire Og went a goal up with about 5 mins to go. Blesso fought back and got 2 points and in the dying seconds of injury time Patrick O'Connor scored the equaliser.  Exciting finish to an entertaining game but lots of room for improvement if we are to progress to the next stage. The winners of the replay will face Newtown in the Semi Final on Sat 26 Sep. The other Semi Final is St Nicholas v AGB. Please support the team and management.

Ladies Notes

Senior Ladies - Congrats to our ladies who beat Coolkenno in the league final which took place in Stratford on Sat 19 Sep. Final score 3-14 to 1-5.

Junior Ladies - Training as usual Wed 8pm to 9:15pm. Light training Sat 11:20 to 12:30 for anybody that's available. Championship semi-final V Barndarrig on Sun 20 Sep in Laragh. The ladies put up a good fight but lost in the end 3-6 to 1-5. Remaining Matches:  Clara V Blessington. Date TBC.

G4M&O - Training as usual on Wed at 6.45pm. New members always welcome only requirement is to be over 18 and interested in exercise and fun. The G4M would like to thank everybody that supported the draw for the all-Ireland Final Ticket all 100 lines were sold. Thanks to Stephen Bohan for ensuring a fair draw and pulling the winning ticket for Barbara Nolan. Thanks to Liz White for providing the ticket. Next Up: Match V Kill away Sat 26 Sep  at 12:30am. 5KM Run in Naas Saturday 3 Oct at 9am. 17 Oct - National Blitz Day in Naomh Mearnóg GAA Club.

Juvenile Notes:

U8 - Training on Tues is cancelled as the Mini All-Ireland is on this week. Training as usual on Sat morning.

NKL  U8: Next game will be a tough one away to Naas on 26 Sep at 2.30pm.

NKL U10 - Next game at home v Eadestown on Sat 26 at 3.30pm.

 

U16 - The U16's played another thriller in the championship last Mon night. The team were leading by a point deep into injury time when Eire Og equalised from a free. The team will feel that the last two games could have been won as we were leading into both. The planned next fixture for U16 on Mon 21 Sep is not going ahead as both set of clubs were fixed to play with no suitable venue available to cater for an evening game. Training on Mon at 7.30pm.

 

Hurling:

 

NKL U9  - at home v Maynooth at 11am

 

NKL U11 - Western Gaels v Naas 2 at 12 noon.

 

U12  - Hurling finals in Ballinakill on Sat 26 Sep at 2.30pm.

U14 - Div A,B, C Finals/Shield Finals.

Lotto: The Lotto jackpot of €12,600 on 8 Sep was not won. Numbers drawn were 9,15,20,27. Next draw 22 Sep in Reids. Jackpot €12,800.
