It was a busy week for the club with our Senior Men, Senior Ladies, Junior A's, U14 boys and U12 girls all in action in their respective championships over the weekend. We would like to thank everyone who supported all our teams over the weekend.
Seniors
St. Pat's Senior team qualified for another County Final with a hard fought win over Annacurra in Aughrim on Sunday. The team looked to be in control at half time when leading by 0-09 to 0-05 but Annacurra pulled it back to within two points midway through the second half. St. Pat's stretched their lead again but a second goal from Annacurra close to full time made it an anxious last few minutes for the St. Pat's supporters. The final score was St. Pat's 0-16, Anncurra 2-08. St. Pat's will now face Rathnew in the Renault Senior Football Championship Final, more details to follow. Well done to all the players and management.
On a rain soaked morning in Bray last Sunday the St Pat's senior ladies won the B Championship Final. Conditions were very trying but both teams made light of this and provided the large crowd with a very entertaining game. Both sets of defences were on top early on but St. Pat's fitness and their support play eventually led to some fine scores. At half time St. Pat's began to dominate and held Bray to just one point, while scoring 1-07 themselves. At the end of the match the B Championship Cup was presented to St. Pat's Captain Sorcha Doyle in front of the delighted by players and supporters. This was a game played at all times in a very supporting manner. The final score was 2-11 to 0-03.
Scorers for St Pat's on the day were; Erynn O'Brien 2-01, Niamh O'Brien Junior 0-05
Niamh O'Brien Senior 0-02, Rose Fagan 0-02, Rhiona McGettigan 0-01.
