U8 Go Games - We hosted the final Go Games of the season on Sat 12 Sep. Kiltegan and ourselves fielded two teams with Kilbride/Lacken and Valleymount fielding one team each. Every team played three games with great skills on display in all the games. Our refs, Ciaran and Sean Mescall, did a great job and kept the games flowing at all times. Special thanks to Gillian, Margaret, Brenda, Vanessa, Sue and Susan for organising the food afterwards for all the travelling squads and mentors. Also thanks to all parents who brought food.

NKL  U8: We played Sallins at home on Sat 12 Sep at 2:30pm. We were slow out of the blocks in this game but given this was some kids fourth match in few hours it was to expected! From the second quarter on we upped our game and went on to record a good win. Our next game will be a tough one away to Naas on 26th Sep.

U10 Go Games - On Sat morning 12 Sep Blessington hosted the last Go Games of the season. We fielded 28 players (3 teams) and played matches against Valleymount, Kiltegan and Lacken/Kilbride. Unfortunately we had to play a good few matches against ourselves but that was dictated by the laws of mathematics! The kids played their hearts out and the morning was polished off by an extraordinary feast at the end from the new bake-off heroes of the west. A sincere thanks to all who supplied and served food on the day and to refs and coaches who assisted on the morning. Until next year....

NKL U10 - On Sat afternoon 12 Sep the U10s played Maynooth at home in the North Kildare League and gave a display of football that was second to none. Blessington ran out easy winners and all on the team won man of the match awards. The team was Ben Carroll Daniels, Conor Farrell, Dylan Keogh, Evan Boland, Finn Behan, Dylan Friel, Tristan Will Whelan, Brian Richardson, Oscar Higgins and Sean Ellis. They were a credit to the club, to the coaches and to their parents on and off the field. Maith sibh buachailli!

U14 - Hard luck to the lads who were beaten well by Avondale in the Shield Semi Final in Roundwood on Sun 13 Sep. This is the end of the road for our older U14's born in 2001 and who will move up to U16 next year. Manager Eoin Phibbs and his backroom team of Kevin Hamilton, Barry Behan, Daragh Ryan and Noreen would like to say thanks to all the U14's who have put in an effort all year since the first week in Feb. There will be some football for the U13's (born in 2002) with the Allen Cup in a few weeks time. Details to follow.

U16 - The under 16 team played the 2nd round of the championship on Mon 7 Sep away to St Nicholas. It was an exciting game which was very close throughout. Blessington led by 2 points approaching full time but caught with an injury time goal to give the hosts victory. It was a true championship game where Blessington could have edged the contest but both sides were quiet evenly matched. The next game is Mon 14 Sep at 6.45pm against Eire Og Greystones in Blessington.

Hurling:

NKL U9 -  Blessington U9 hurlers played Sallins away on Sun 13 Sep in the 3rd round of NKL. A tight game with Blessington just shading the first three quarters. Sallins finished strongly to win the final quarter.. A much improved overall team performance from Blessington with notable performances from Jack Byrne, Max Kehoe, Jake Robins and Philip Hopkins. No match next weekend.
