U12 Girls
Well done to AGB U12 Division 1 girls' team who finished out on top in a close encounter with Hacketstown this evening in Pearse's Park. This was the girls' last match before their semi-final encounter with Tinahely. Well done to Sophie, Grace, Ciara and Clodagh who stepped up to help out their Division 1 team mates and played brilliantly. Big thanks to Terry who refereed the game and to all the girls family and friends for showing great support on the side line. Next up is a Division 3 challenge match at home on Thursday the 17th.

U14 Division 3 Girls
On the 12th of September, in Pearses Park, AGB's U14 Division 3 girls team took on Éire Óg in the Championship. The game opened very brightly with both teams playing some great football. AGB fell behind to an early point, but were quick to reverse the score with a well worked goal. Éire Óg hit back with some well taken scores to edge the lead as the match continued at a high tempo. On a rare sunny afternoon it was a relief to both teams when the referee indicated half time. There was no let-up in the second half with both teams contributing to a great game of football. In the end it wasn't to be AGB's day with Éire Óg winning out, with a final score of 3-1 to 3-9. Well played girls, this was a great performance against a Division 2 team. There has been a huge improvement since the last competitive game, an improvement that is down to hard work on the training pitch. Now there is a Shield semi-final to look forward to!

Junior Ladies
On Friday evening, the 11th, the Junior Ladies travelled over to the west of the county to face Kilbride in their last away game of the season. In unpleasant conditions, AGB started strongly with Claire Murray and Lisa Keegan excelling at midfield with their link play from the defence to attack. Kilbride found their attacks breaking down because of the tenacious tackling and harassment by the AGB defence, with Maebh O'Connor playing a starring role at centre back and ably assisted by the strong running of Emily Mitchell and Molly Lee and when the half back line was by passed, Kilbride had Kayleigh Earls and Emer Curran to contend with and as usual, there was little joy for the home team. In attack Doireann O'Reilly was dominating her opponent by dropping into space and setting up numerous attacks and together with the strong running and awareness of Anne Marie Keegan and Doireann Kavanagh, who scored a super goal, were feeding great ball into the full forward line and causing panic to the opposition. Katie Furlong, Aoife O'Reilly and Aisling Appleby played great as a full forward unit, with Aisling taking over free taking responsibilities and doing so excellently. Last but not least was Laura Rice, our goalkeeper, whose kick outs had to be spot on with the strong runners of Kilbride. Laura found our half backs and midfielders with ease which in turn set up many attacks and eased the pressure on our defence and when Kilbride's full forward broke through for the only time of the match, was one on one with Laura, she pulled off a great save, and then the final whistle blew and AGB won by one point. A great result but most importantly a great performance by the fourteen that turned up and it made the home journey on the bus more sweet and loud!

Minor Men
The AGB Minor Men had a great win on the 13th of September, when they played Carnew Emmets in the Quarter Final of the Minor A Football Championship. Final score 2-9 to 1-5. Well done!!

U14 Boys
An Tochar came out ahead when they met AGB in the U14 Boys Football B Championship Semi final on the 13th in Ballinakill. Hard Luck Lads. Final score: 5-8 to 2-2.

U10 Boys
AGB U10 boys had an excellent turnout for the last Wicklow blitz on the 12th of September. Once again the boys performed brilliantly and after a very slow start against Tinahely in the first 15 minutes, they settled down in the second half to take control of the game, and this continued into the second game against Coolkenno. They ended up winning both games with some great scores and teamwork on display for all present to enjoy - well done to our young AGB players!!!!

U8 Boys
The last Under 8 Go Game Blitz of 2015 was held in Coolkenno on Saturday the 12th of September. Thanks to all the parents for their great support, roll on 2016!
