U14 Girls
U14 Div1 girls began their Championship at home to Baltinglass on Thursday, the 27th, in Pearse Park. Right from the first whistle the girls settled into their stride and blitzed the Baltinglass goal, racing into a good lead. Baltinglass never gave up but the damage was done and AGB kept the scoreboard rolling with some lovely team play, finishing with a total of 10 goals and 7 points. The full panel available played their part in this victory. Next up is an away fixture against Bray Emmets in a few weeks. Well done girls!

The U14 Division 3 team kicked off their Championship in a group game away to St. Pat's on the 27th. The girls made a strong start to the game carving out some great scoring chances but unfortunately they didn't convert them. At the other end St. Pat's were not so generous and were very clinical when their chances arrived going ahead by 2 goals and 2 points. The girls showed great spirit and fought back scoring 2 points of their own and then a well worked goal appeared to get them right back into the game. Celebrations were cut short when the goal wasn't allowed as the referee called a square ball. St. Pat's scored another goal to go in at half time leading by 3-2 to 0-2. The girls made a quick start to the 2nd half scoring 1-1. They managed to pin St. Pat's back for the first 10 minutes but again chances were missed. St. Pat's then took control of the match and deservingly won out with the final score of 5-7 to 1-4.

Still lots to play for girls - there is another group match against Eire Óg to play yet. It's very important to attend training and there has been a noticeable lag off training since the Féile. Time to get the full group back together and finish off the season by preparing as best we can. Hard work in training is the best preparation for match day. See you ALL Tuesday!!!

U12 Girls
Well done to AGB u12 Div1 team who kick started their championship campaign off with a fine win against Bray Emmets on the 30th of August in Bray. The half time score of 2-6 to 0-1 could have been way closer only for some top goal keeping by Eimear Gregory. AGB took control of the second half and Bray couldn't stem the tide.

The AGB u12 Div3 team started their championship campaign off with a brilliant win against Blessington on the 29th of August. Both teams worked tirelessly throughout but it was AGB who broke away to take the points.

Well done girls. A great weekend for both under 12 teams. Training for everyone Tuesday. Keep up the great work girls.

U16 Boys
Newtown beat AGB by the narrowest of margins in a highly entertaining league game at Ballymoney on Monday, the 24th. The score at half time Newtown 1-7 AGB 1-5. AGB had the better of the exchanges early in second half and led by 4 points midway through the second half. Two late goals by Newtown centre forward Sean Gregory sealed the game for Newtown. There were good displays from Luke Delaney in goal, James Larkin, Ciaran O'Shea, Peter Hempenstall, Andy Maher and Quentin Reilly. Scorers AGB were James Larkin 1-5, Ciaran O'Shea 1-1, Quentin Reilly 0-2, Conor Breslin 0-1, Andy Maher 0-1, Mark Fitzgerald 0-1. Final score: Newtown 3-9 AGB 2-11. Next outing is the A Championship against Baltinglass on 7th of September at 7pm in Pearses Park. All support would be appreciated.
