Ballymanus club notes

August 17, 2015

It was a case of one step forward two steps back for the intermediates in recent weeks. The lads had a super away win over Aughrim in the league on a scoreline 4-9 to 1-10 however they never fired against AGB and lost by six points on a scoreline 15pts to 2-3. Last weekend, the lads were second best for most of their final championship outing against Ashford, losing out on a scoreline 2-18 to 2-11. The real damage was done in the first half when we trailed 11pts to 5pts. In the second half we started well and with less than ten minutes remaining had managed to get our noses ahead. Ashford to their credit had the legs on us in the final minutes and two sucker blows meant it was Ashfords day. The lads certainly have a bit to do before their semi final outing. The U12s won the first of their mini festival matchs in a close game with Barndarrig. The final score read Ballymanus 8-4 Barndarrig 5-9. Their next game is at home against Carnew Thursday 20th. There was no lotto jackpot winner last weekend. The numbers drawn were 2. 7. 9. 15 with
Ann Byrne, Agnes Murray, Mark Kenny and Mick O' Brien all match three winners.
