July 20, 2015

The Cube
Tickets are now on sale for the forthcoming attraction "The Cube". The event is in the Arklow Bay Hotel on August the 8th and promises to be the experience of the year. With many Arklow businesses, Associations, not to mention clubs, competing to beat the "Cube" it looks as if it will be a sell-out. Tickets (€10) can be had from any committee member and are on sale in the Arklow Bay Hotel and also at the GAA Office in Pearse's Park.

Ladies Meeting
There will be a meeting of the Ladies Committee on Monday 20th July at 8pm in the Harbour Bar.

Bag Pack
On next Friday 24th July Arklow Geraldines Ballymoney club members will be facilitating a Bag Pack in Dunne's Stores for the Carers Association of Ireland. Looking forward to the public's generous support for this worthy cause.

Condolences
A former member of Arklow Geraldines club, Paddy New, passed to his eternal reward last week in Christchurch New Zealand. Paddy in his younger days was a prolific hurler and footballer. To his sister, Alice, and members of his family, we extend our sympathy. Ar dhéis De go raibh a anam.

U12 Girls
Well done to AGB U12 girls who played Kilanerin on the 14th of July in a friendly. Four quarters of 15 minutes were played which meant the growing panel of players got loads of opportunity to play football in various positions of play. The girls have been busy playing football having played Tinahely, Carnew and Clonee over the last two weeks. A big welcome to our newest recruits Sophie Roche, Roisín Murphy and Ashley Byrne, who are all great additions to the large panel of players. Big thanks to all the girls' parents and families, who are great supporters of the girls whether bringing to training, matches or supporting the girls so positively on the side line. Also big thanks to Terry who has given up his free time and refereed many of our games. The girls play their last league game at home to Bray in Ballymoney this Friday at 7pm! Best of luck girls, keep up the great work in training!

U10 and U8 Girls
Agb U8 and U10 girls took part in the Seabreeze tournament on Saturday the 18th of July. The U10 girls reached the second place final where they defeated Tinahely.

The U8 girls had great matches with Clonee of Camolin and Castletown as part of the Seabreeze Festival. Evenly matched teams ensured great entertainment for the spectators.

A great day was had by all in glorious sunshine and some great football from our girls. All girls received well deserved medals afterwards for their great efforts. Thanks a lot to Terry and all organisers, Deirdre, Mairead and all the catering helpers, thanks to all the parents who put on an amazing spread of beautiful sandwiches and cakes, thanks to all the volunteers, supporters and last, but not least, the players themselves!

AGB Men
Hard Luck to the AGB men who had two recent losses, against Annacurra in the Carter Cup and against Tinahely in the Junior B Football Championship.
