The intermediates got their third championship win with 7pt win over Rathnew in a fractious encounter in Arklow last weekend. The lads were slow out of the blocks, and were trailing four points to no score after twenty minutes, before they hit a scoring spree, chalking up 2-5 before the break with goals from Philip Coogan after good work by Roan, and a big Darragh special after he waltzed through the defence. At the break we lead 2-5 to 5pts. We started the second half well and Roan, after notching a sweet point, raised the green flag with a speculative shot into the top corner if the net. The final score read 3-11 to 1-10. Next up are Stratford on Friday week. There was no lotto jackpot winner last week. The numbers drawn were 7. 10. 13. 24. with Michael Kealy; Denis Keogh; Maureen Newsome and Geraldine O Brien all match three winners.
