Wicklow is one of the host counties of this year's Feile Peil na nOg, which takes place this coming weekend.
This year's U14 competition is being staged in south Leinster - with Wicklow, Wexford and Carlow sharing hosting duties.
Up to 20,000 people are expected to come to the region for the weekend, with 156 teams set to compete across ten divisions in the boys section alone.
Wicklow Feile committee chairman Martin Fitzgerald is bracing himself for great excitement in the Garden County, with teams starting to descend from tomorrow, Friday:
"There is great anticipation around the county," he says in The Wicklow People. "I'm really looking forward to it now. We've worked hard on this for well over a year and eveything seems to be going to plan. A lot of that is down to the hard work of Bridget Kenny and James Doran.
"We have been backed very heavily by the County Board here in Wicklow. Anything we have asked from them, they have given. We couldn't ask for more. And also we have got great support from the committee up in Ballinakill."
