Senior Notes:


Seniors - Campus Oil Div 1 football league - Blessington v Hollywood at home on Tues 16 Jun. The Blues led by 1-05 to 0-5 at half time. Full time score a win for Blessington 4-09 to 0-10. Scorers - Michael O'Connor (1-4), David Boothman (1-1), Curtis Geraghty (1-1), Conor Devlin (1-0), Eddie Boylan (0-2) and Patrick O'Connor (0-1).


Intermediates - Campus Oil Div 1A football league Blessington at home to Dunlavin at 7.30pm.

County Senior Team - Best of luck to Wicklow who travel to Armagh on Sat 27 July at 2.30pm especially our club lads Anto, Paul and Mikey. Tickets available at gaa.ie.


Ladies:

Senior Ladies - Hard luck to the ladies who were beaten by AGB on Thurs 18 Jun in the first round of the championship.


U12 B girls - U12 B at home v Valleymount Tues 23 June at 7.30pm

 

12 A girls  - U12A girls at home on Thurs 25 June v Kilcullen at 7.30pm

Juvenile Notes:

 

There will be no Academy training on Sat 27 Jun due to Feile.


U8 Go Games - We had two teams at Go Games in Kilbride/Lacken on Sat 20 Jun  where we played the hosts, Hollywood and Valleymount. Both  teams played very well with great skills on show. Coaches were very impressed with kids who've recently moved up to U8 and played their first games today.


U8 NKL - Our final match of spring league against Sallins which was due to played on Sat 20 Jun was rescheduled and is now on next Wed 24 Jun at 7pm.


U10 Go Games - 25 U10's travelled to Lacken/Kilbride Go Games on Sat 20 Jun. Kilbride fielded 2 teams like ourselves along one from each Valleymount and Hollywood. Both our teams fought well winning two of their three matches .The sun looked down on us for the whole morning .Players who came to the fore on each team were Brian Richardson, Finn Behan and Leila Shannon whilst on the other team Adam Smyth, David Gilmore and Tristan Will Whelan came to the fore . A great mornings football had by all plus huge thanks to Davy Richardson for the dig out .

U10 NKL - Next game is at home v Eadestown at 7pm.

Féile Peil na nOg - Finally, it's time for all the plans to be put into action for the Féile Peil na nOg which will be hosted in South Leinster (Wexford, Wicklow and Carlow this weekend.  Blessington GAA are hosting a boys team from Ardnaree Sarsfields from Ballina, Co Mayo and girls team from Glencar Manor, Manorhamilton, Co Leitrim. Fri 26 Jun in Blessington GAA the boys will play Shamrocks GAA (Enniscorthy, Co Wexford) at 5pm and Ballinderry Shamrocks (Ballinderry, Co Derry) at 6pm while the girls team will travel to Killanerin (Wexford) on the Friday evening to play a Derry team at 5pm and Killanerin (Wexford) at 6pm. On Sat 27 Jun Blessington Boys and Girls will play their visiting teams at the pitch at 11am. Depending on whether the boys progress to either the Cup or Shield Semi Finals depends on where they play them. It will be either Blessington GAA or Hollywood GAA. Should the boys progress to the semi's or final then they will travel to Ballinakill, Centre of Excellence on Sun AM. The girls will have to travel to Ferns on Saturday afternoon for their quarter finals. Should the girls progress to the semi's or final they will have to travel back down to Ferns on the Sun AM. It will be a busy Sat afternoon in Blessington GAA as we are hosting 24 boys and girls teams in the Cup Quarter Finals. We would appeal to all drivers to obey the traffic management stewards during the weekend. Wishing our boys and girls teams and management the very best over the weekend. Most important is that everyone enjoys the experience of Feile, Please come along and support our lads and girls. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED URGENTLY FOR A VARIETY OF JOBS LEADING UP TO THE FEILE AND INCLUDING FRI AND SAT. THIS IS OUR CLUB AND WE ARE SHOWCASING IT TO  24 TEAMS OVER THE WEEKEND. PARENTS, MENTORS, SENIOR PLAYERS AND MEMBERS ARE ASKED TO CONTACT NOREEN ON 087 2858375 TO ADD THEIR NAMES TO THE LIST. Hurling:

 

Feile na nGael - Well done to Luke O'Toole's who are All Ireland Division 4 Hurling Champions beating Blackwaer Wexford 1-6 to 1-01. Well done also to Carnew Emmets who won the Feile Div 5 Shield Final today. Great for Wicklow hurling.


U8/U10 Go Games - Go Games  - Next up is away to St Kevin's pm Fri 3 July.


U16 - Hurling Michael Dwyers away to ARP at 7.30pm.


Cul Camp 2015 - Blessington GAA will host a football Cul Camp on 6-10 July and hurling Cul camp on 20-24 July. €55 first child, €45 second child and third child €40 (must be from the same family). Gear included. Club contact is Chris O'Connor 086 2239403.

Lotto: The Lotto jackpot of €11,400 on 16 Jun was not won. The next jackpot will be €11,600 on Tues 30 June in Hennessy's. The numbers drawn were 2,9,15,16.  There were 6 winners who each receive €50 each - Arthur Hennessy, Mick Moran, Terry O'Dwyer, Olivia Keogh c/o Dermot Richardson, John McMahon c/o Lorcan and Susan Farrell c/o Laura Kilmartin. Kits for Kids - Supervalu are running a promotion until the 5th July for gear for clubs. Shoppers will receive Kit for Kids tokens and we are asking all that shop in Supervalu to please donate your tokens to Blessington Juvenile Girls team. Well done to all who took part in the First Aid training course which was held on Sun 21 Jun in the clubhouse. Many thanks again to Simon Taylor and his side kick John Walsh from the Blessington Cardiac First Responders for taking time out of their busy schedule to train our mentors, members and parents.
