Intermediate Men
AGB had a comprehensive win over Aughrim in the Div 2 league game played in Pearse's Park on Tuesday evening, the 9th of June. It was a vintage performance by Damien Redmond's charges as they racked up a 26 point winning margin. At the interval it was 2-10 to 0-4 and after the resumption it was more of the same from this team that showed what they are capable of. Up front Philip Healy was distributing the ball with maximum effect and the younger players of O'Shea, Kelleher and O'Brien were making full use of their talents. Also to get on the score sheet were Ivan, JP & Stephen Hurley along with the evergreen Alan McBride. In the backline Jim Bolger kept a safe goal and he got great cover from O'Brien, Tyrrell & Maher. Overall this was a great team performance as they prepare for the next championship game. Final score: Arklow Geraldines Ballymoney 5-17 Aughrim 0-6.

U14 Div3 Girls
On the evening of the 11th of June, in Pearse Park, the U14 Division 3 girls got back to their winning ways in their league campaign with a well-earned win over Rathnew. The girls started very strongly, dominating possession and creating many chances. Unfortunately they didn't take these chances and they were made pay by Rathnew who were very clinical when their chances arrived. From Rathnew's first four chances they had an excellent return of 3 goals and a point. But this prompted a great reaction from the girls and finally they put on their scoring boots. With some excellently worked team goals and points, AGB went in at halftime leading by 3 points. In the second half the girls took control of the game, restricting their opponents to 1 goal and winning the game with a final score of 6-9 to 4-2. Well done girls, a great win and still all to play for in the league.

There's still lots to work on in training and lots of events to look forward to this season. An exciting time for all our Under 14's - boys and girls - with the upcoming Féile na nÓg National tournaments this year on the weekend of 26th - 28th June 2015. So girls, make sure you take part and work hard in the few trainings sessions that are available before this event!!
