Junior Men
Well done to the AGB Junior men's team who beat Coolkenno by a score of 2-10 to 0-7 on the 7th of May. AGB went in 0-4 to 0-3 a halftime and were lucky to be still in the game as Coolkenno had wasted opportunity after opportunity to take the lead. AGB had started well and were first off the mark with points from Alan McBride. This was followed with goal and point scoring chances being squandered by AGB. Coolkenno then dominated possession but errant shooting left them with little to show.

Following words from John Murphy, the AGB Junior Team Manager, the team came out more focused on football for the second half. With some soft frees being awarded Coolkenno edged ahead but AGB responded once more and kept in touch with once again fine shooting from McBride. Darragh Keenan then came on in corner forward and soon after was rewarded with a well taken goal. With James Tyrell showing great form he burst up field and showed his scoring prowess as he neatly slotted over a point. Coolkenno continued to pressurise and pick off points but it was that gem of a footballer, McBride who cutely tapped the ball into the corner for AGB's second goal. Well done to all and we hope to see some more players at training from now on.

U14 Boys
Thanks to everybody involved in organising and participating in our fundraiser table quiz for the AGB U14 Boys Feile Team. It was a fantastic success with the boys proving that they have brains as well as excellent football skills!

U11 Boys
Well done to the 20 U11's who played against a good An Tochar U12's outfit on Monday the 11th. In the first half AGB performed brilliantly against a very well matched An Tochar team. The AGB midfield won the majority of the kick-outs for the match. It was great to see such a solid performance from the team. In the second half AGB started a bit slowly, however they finished very strongly, controlling the game at the end. Well done to all the players who took part. The step up in training is really starting to show. With a varying degree of ability in the squad, it's starting to gel into an exciting group. Special mention to Diarmuid O'Connor on his first game for the club, he fitted in brilliantly and has a bright future ahead of him. Players who took part on the night were: Conor Healy, Jamie Tobin, Dean Farrell, Cormac Ward, Ross Byrne, Adam Mullervy, Conor Hannon, Dylan Hayden, Niall O'Donovan, Roan Freehill, Daire Furlong, Oran Dunning, Sean Murphy, Conor Gahan, Padraig Birmingham, Sean McCarthy, Chris O'Brien, Patrick Dickenson, Diarmuid O'Connor & Darragh Ivanoff.

U10/U8 Boys
The U10/U8 boys had a great day at their first home Go Games under 10/8 Blitz of 2015 on the 16th of May. It was a lovely sunny morning and the 14 teams that competed gave it their all. Thank you to all the travelling teams, coaches, refs and parents for making it a great morning.

U16 Div3 Girls
Well done to the AGB U16 Div3 team on a great victory over Eire Og in the league on the 14th of May. It was a great team performance. The standard of football played was just outstanding. It just goes to show what can be achieved when teh girls put their minds to it. Well done all! The final score was: AGB 4-10 Eire Og 2-01. That's the last U16 game for a while until all exams are over. The club would like to wish all our girls who are sitting exams the very best of luck in the coming weeks.

U14 Div1 Girls
There was another good result for the U14 Div1 girls in their League game against Bray on the 7th of May, making it 2 wins from 3 games in the league. AGB were on the front foot from the start in this one but it wasn't till the 2nd half that the girls could shake off a gallant Bray team. The forward line worked well to get scores, and the defence played well overall, but know that they must concentrate and be ready when the opposition attacks. Final Score: Bray Emmets 5-4 AGB 10-8. All in all a good nights work and a mention to Claragh who scored a good goal on her debut! Well done girls!

The girls previous league game was against Tinahely. As was the case in the Feile encounter, it was Tinahely who started better and were on the scoresheet within a couple of minutes with a fine goal. AGB quickly settled after that wake up call, and found their shooting boots with excellent team work and some fine finishing. From the goalkeeper right up to the full forward line the girls were on top their game and never looked back after regaining the lead. Tinahely never stopped trying and only some really good defending kept their scores to a minimum. Every player played their part in taking the points, racking up a brilliant score of 13-7 over the hour.

U12 Girls
AGB U12 girl's played their third league game at home to Tinahely on Wednesday May 13th in Pearse Park. Captained by Lauren Randall, AGB had the perfect start after Liadain Kavanagh won the throw in and sent an inch perfect pass to Aoife Kavanagh. Kavanagh pointed and registered the first score of the match. However this was to be AGB's only score of the first half. Tinahely were more clinical with their chances and had registered 1-3 leaving AGB trailing by 4 points but very much in the game.

With a large panel of players, AGB made a number of changes in the second half. Tinahely built on their momentum in the first half and registered another goal and 2 points before Liadain Kavanagh scored a well worked goal after some determined play by Caoimhe Breslin to get the ball up field. Liadain went on to score a further 2 points but this wasn't enough and Tinahely finished the game strongly leaving 2-3 between the sides.

Both management and players will have learnt a lot from this game. Tinahely girls seemed to want the ball more and were out in front time after time. AGB girls were too nice on the ball and were easily dispossessed. What was great to see though, was that each of the 22 players battled till the final whistle and never gave up, with better decision making on the ball and using their chances up front. The next time these two sides meet should be a closer affair. Best for AGB were Eimear Gregory in goal, Caoimhe Breslin and Isobel Carr in the backs, and Liadain and Aoife Kavanagh in midfield.

U10 Girls
Well done to the AGB U10 girl's who took part in the Rathnew blitz on the 16th of May. A great team display saw the girls take three wins from three against Tinahely, Baltinglass and St.Pats. The girls have their first league game this Tuesday, the 19th of May, away to Clonee.

For further Fixtures see: Ladies Fixtures 2015.

U8 Girls
The U8 girls attended their first blitz of the year on the 16th of May in Rathnew. They came up against Baltinglass, St Pat's and An Tochar. A slowish start against Baltinglass was followed up with a great, tigerish, 2nd half performance where they outplayed their opponents. AGB kicked on from there and were quite dominant in the matches against St. Pat's and An Tochar. There were some great plays and much possession for the girls.  Well done to all 11 girls who all played their part. The future looks bright for AGB girls. Thanks to all coaches, admins and parents. The support is great which is brilliant for the girls! For further Fixtures see: Ladies Fixtures 2015.
