Senior Notes:

Intermediates - Darcy Sand Intermediate Round 2 v Donard/Glen on Sat 16 May in Hollywood. Referee Anthony Nolan brought this game to an end at half time when Niall Curran of Donard/Glen  centre half forward sustained a serious leg injury which required the attendance of an ambulance. Donard/Glen were the better side making the best use of their possession which probably broke 50/50.  Donard/Glen led 0-6 to 0-4 at stoppage with all 6 pts coming from play with the Blues only having 2 pts from play. Both sides had goal chances. On 23 mins Brian Lennon at mid field for Donard/Glen ran right through only to be denied by a super Barry Behan save while at the other end Jonathan Daniels blasted over the bar from 5 yards and then lobbed the  goalkeeper Colin Toomey only to see the shot rebound off the post into the arms of the Donard/Glen keeper.

Ladies Notes: 

Senior Ladies: The Senior ladies face Valleymount away on Mon 18 at 7.30pm and away to Coolkenno on Sat 23 May at 7pm.

Junior Ladies: Junior - Junior ladies play away to Kilbride at 7pm on Tues 19 May.

Gaelic for Mothers & Others: Training Wed 7pm to 8pm. The ladies will be competing in a 5K run in the coming weeks to raise funds. Please support the G4M&) team. New members always welcome call Sinead 0862446510 or Kevin 0876123203 for info or just turn up at 7pm at training session.

Juvenile Notes:

U8/U10 - Football Go Games on Sat 23 May at home hosting teams from Kilbride/Lacken, Hollywood and Valleymount. We kindly ask parents to bring along sandwiches and snack for the visiting teams, parents and mentors.

 

U8's - Our NKL team played Celbridge away on Fri 15 May and continued their great run with a well deserved win. All 9 players gave it their all with stand-out performances on this occasion from Harry Wilson, Ronan Smyth and Patrick Small. Next up is a home game against Sallins on Sat 30 May.

 

U14's  -. Our U14's have 6 pts out of a possible 8 going into their next game away to Carnew on 20 May at 7.15pm.

 

Well done to the Wicklow U14 Development Squad on winning all games in a blitz against teams from Westmeath, Louth and Limerick in the Centre of Excellence in Ballinakill on Sat 16 May. Representing Blessington was Eoin Kavanagh and David Phibbs. All U14's are invited to come along to training sessions in Ballinakill every Sat morning at 10.30am. U16's - Away game to Tinahely on Mon 11 May at 7.15pm.

 

Well done to St Kevin's Community School, Dunlavin who beat Scoil Chonglais, Baltinglass in the the Jun A County Championship on Thurs 14 May. From Blessington GAA James Jackson (U16)played and James Mulligan (U14) was a sub. James scored 2-02. Final score 2-08 to 0-07. Well done lads.

 

Féile Peil na nOg - Plans and actions are now in place for the Féile Peil na nOg which will be hosted in South Leinster (Wexford, Wicklow and Carlow) on 26 - 28 June 2015.  5 weeks and counting.

 

Feile School visit - The school visits went very well on Tues last when Jessica Carroll and Mikey O'Connor along with Peter O'Neill (Chairman of Feile) visited Stratford Grangecon, Dunlavin and Gaelscoil na Lochanna and No 1 school in Blessington. Our schools represented themselves really well with a great turnout in club jerseys.

 

Official Launch of Feile 2015  - Eoin Phibbs, Noreen Keegan Kavanagh, David Phibbs and Eoin Kavanagh attended the launch of Feile in The Ferrycarrig Hotel in Wexford on Wed 13 May. There was a huge crowd in attendance on the night.

 

Cul Camp 2015 - Blessington GAA will host a football Cul Camp on 6-10 July and hurling Cul camp on 20-24 July. €55 first child, €45 second child and third child €40 (must be from the same family). Gear included. Club contact is Chris O'Connor 086 2239403.

U14 Feile Fundraiser - A DATE FOR YOUR DIARY - RACE DAY FEILE FUNDRAISER ON 12 JUNE 2015 IN MURPHYS. Cards are in circulation this week to U14 players and committee members. Can all cards be returned to Noreen and Maura by 26th May the very latest please. Horses can be purchased at €10 each. If you would like to purchase a horse please contact Noreen on 0872858375.

Kits for Kids - Supervalu are running a promotion until the 5th July for gear for clubs. Shoppers will receive Kit for Kids tokens and we are asking all that shop in Supervalu to please donate your tokens to Blessington Juvenile Girls team. You get 1 for every €40 spent and we need 2000 to get a kit. Contact Maura Reid on 087 6548744.

Garden County Development Draw 2015 - The first date for the draw is fast approaching. with a total prize fund of €66,750 up for grabs. Tickets cost €50 and this enters you into 3 draws on 29 May, 26 June and 24 July. 1st prize - €10,000, 2nd €5,000, 3rd €2,500, 4th €1,500, 5th €1,000 and 6th to 20th €150 each.
