The Blues missed two great first half chances and AGB in the second half also missed two including one just on the stroke of full time. Blessingtons' experienced men Mark Richardson, Barry O'Donovan and Jonathan Daniels led the team which had a new mid field of Tomas Donohoe and Kyle Geraghty. Hard luck to our club lads Patrick O'Connor, Martin Shannon, Peter Manning, Conor Kenny, Jack Cotter and their Kilbride colleague Aaron Curran. Laois now book a quarterfinal place v Kildare.

Ladies Notes:

Our Ladies double Fundraiser on Fri 8 May was a great success. We could set up a new rugby team after the great display from the team! First up was the Half Rugby Half GAA match in Blesso at 7pm v Naas RFC. The bad weather certainly didn't dampen the spirits with a great turnout of support where all were very entertained! We gave Naas a great contest only defeated by 5 tries to 2. Then it was the football half which wasn't as contested as Naas had rarely seen a GAA match let alone play one! The result over all was a draw which was very fitting to a most sporting occasion. Our U8 & U10 girls lined out for a guard of honour for both teams and also received goody bags. Many thanks to Alan Burke who spent the last few weeks training us for the rugby it certainly paid off! Some super tackles in muddy conditions - we wish Julie Connors all the best washing the jerseys!!. We are very grateful to Amanda Connors for organising pizza etc for Naas in Apache and thanks to Barry Hamilton for taking photos. The second part of the night was our table quiz in Murphy's which also went very well. Huge thanks to all who donated the brilliant spot prizes they are very much  appreciated. Steven Bohan's table ran out winners(still debatable re cheating!!) and Kate Hennessy's table were runners up. Pat O'Neill as usual done a great job as quizmaster many thanks to him and wife Mary for their help. Thanks a mil to Murphy's for the finger food.

Senior Ladies: .We had a big win over St Nicks last Wed in the Cup. Next game is away v Roundwood on Mon 11 May at 8pm.

Junior Ladies:

Junior - The Junior ladies had their best match to date on Sat evening. A small group (11) of girls and a couple of the G4M had a very competitive match against Newtown. The game was all square at half time. Orla Doyle (goal keeper turned full forward) scored the first goal. (Full forward turned goal keeper) Sinead Johnston made some vital saves. Everybody put in a huge effort and unfortunately were beaten. Catherine Cleary just gets better and better. Well done to all the girls who gave it their all.

U16's - The girls are heading into this match still undefeated at home to AGB on Tues 12 May at 7.30pm.

U14's - Great win for our U14 girls team who beat Eire Og Greystones at home on 5 May. Final score 2-04 to 1-03.

U14's  - An excellent win for our U14's away to Derry Gaels on 6 May  in Aughrim. The lads went in at half time 10 points down 3-09 to 1-05. A determined side came out in the second half and the lads turned around the scoreline and went on to win by 6 points with the opposition only managing to score 3 points in the second half while Blesso scored 4 goals and 7 pts.
